E-Gov Strategies (or Digital Government) is defined as "The employment of the Internet and the world-wide-web for delivering government information and services to the citizens." (United Nations, 2006; AOEMA, 2005).[2]  Electronic Government (or e-Government) essentially refers to "The utilization of Information Technology (IT), Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and other web-based telecommunication technologies to improve and/or enhance on the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery in the public sector." (Jeong, 2007).[1] e-Government promotes and improves broad stakeholders contribution to national and community development, as well as deepen the governance process.  E-government describes the use of technologies to facilitate the operation of government and the dispersement of government information and services. E-government, short for electronic government, deals heavily with Internet and non-internet applications to aid in governments. E-government includes the use of electronics in government as large-scale as the use of telephones and fax machines, as well as surveillance systems, tracking systems such as RFID tags, and even the use of television and radios to provide government-related information and services to the citizens.

BIZ TIPS - ADVICE

ONLINE PRESENCE?

https://www.score.org/resources/how-use-technology-drive-sales-your-website

To drive sales, each page on your website should include at least one clear call to action. Below are some elements that can be used to drive sales and sample calls to action you might use for each. Which might work for your business?

  • Contact information (phone number, fax number, address): Give customers as many ways as possible to buy from your business. Call to action: “Contact us today!”
  • Email contact form: Listing your email on your website can generate spam (junk emails). Instead, put a contact form on the site so users can contact you. Call to action: “Contact us now!”
  • Map and directions to location: If customers need to visit your physical location to buy (i.e., a store or restaurant), make this as easy as possible. Call to action: “Visit us today!”
  • Email signup: Ask customers to sign up for emails from you. Even if they don’t buy today, your emails will drive sales in the future. Call to action: “Sign up now!”
  • Discounts or special offers: A link or button users click on for special deals is a great sales driver. Call to action: “Today’s Deal”
  • FAQs: Customers who have questions that go unanswered may leave your site without buying, so provide answers to the most “frequently asked questions” (FAQs). Call to action: “Got a question? Get answers now!”
  • Help: Provide help for customers at any stage in the shopping or purchase process.
  • Online chat: Online chat enables customers to get instant live help with questions or problems, making them more likely to buy. Call to action: “Chat with a representative now!”
  • Appointment scheduler: An online appointment scheduling tool that lets customers set their own appointment times for services or consultations can speed the sales process. Call to action: “Schedule an appointment now!”
  • Podcasts, webinars and videos: All of these online content options can provide more information and suggest solutions to common customer issues. Call to action: “Call this number now!”

Philanthropy Education

spotlight on charity organization:

A Legacy of Giving is an innovative academic service learning program under Austin Community Foundation (ACF), a 501(c)(3) public charity. Unlike traditional direct service charities, Legacy teaches children through academic service learning to become effective community trustees, thereby setting the stage for philanthropic activity now and in the future.

Legacy staff consists of seasoned educators and curriculum writers who develop lessons that integrate current TEKS into our overall approach to teach philanthropy in a way that empowers students and makes them excited to learn and teachers excited to teach. We encourage integration of all core subjects into our study of philanthropy.

Students learn what a community is, what a philanthropist is, how to research a social concern, how to advocate for others, how to run a service project, and how to analyze and reflect upon the results. Our goal is to equip students with academic vocabulary words so they are familiar with terms such as “community” and “civic engagement.”
